Hi,

My laptop is connected to the WIFI/Router, I have the right password and everything. The internet is sometimes working normally, but then sometimes it stops functioning properly. The little
'5 bars' symbol has a small yellow triangle next to it, and when I hover over it, it say's my Network Name, and then "No Internet Acess".

What could this be? Why? And how can I fix this?

Thanks!

P.S: Just before one of you asks, when I type ipconfig/all, into CMD, this is what appears:

What happens if you try to use the normal dns and not googles, also try "ipconfig /flushdns". Also under network and sharing center click the red X and see if it just resets the network adapter and fixes it.

I did the first two steps. I can't see a 'red x' under the 'Network and Sharing Center' though. Hopefully, it is resolved. I will post here if I see it again. Until then, thanks. :)

So it works now then? It may have been a fluke with your router giving you an ip address. If it happens again in network connections check to see if it has a valid ip address under status for the adapter. If it starts with 169 then it is not giving you a valid address.

It started playing up again. As I said, it was fluctuating between access and no access. The two steps you gave me before didn't work. :/ I looked under the Adapter's IPv4, it starts with 192. So yeah, I assume it's valid.

Anything else I could try?? :/

Also more info: There have been storms, floods and tornado's in the area recently. Nothing had effected us directly, but our land-line phone, isn't working for some reason. So I guess there could be something out there in the wiring, causing problems?? Idk. I'm with 'Spark' btw.

You can always try a factory reset of the router as a last resort, not a guaranteed solution but may help. Check documentation that came with the device to see how.

For now:

Open a cmd window:
ipconfig -all -> this will show you information about your network settings, find gateway IP and what IP the computer gets

open router/modem administration page, find what IP it is getting from ISP

Open few cmd windows, and run the below in each (no "): these commands just keep pinging until you close the cmd or CTRL+C:
ping "gateway IP here" -t
ping "computer IP here" -t
ping www.google.com -t

when you see the yellow triangle, check the cmd windows and see which ones fail. Try these until someone else more knowledgeable responds.
