Hi, At home I have my wireless network, my next door neighbour has his wireless network, we wish to connect the two to share files and play xbox via LAN, they are in range as i can connect to my network with my phone from his house. I have a D-Link DIR615 (Virgin Media) router. not too sure what his router is, Will this be possible?

Thanks,

Dave.

You really need to be on the same network using a common default gateway in order to share folders and files. A typical LAN gaming connection also needs to be on the same network.

It is possible to set it up a LAN for gaming or sharing files using a single router with a wireless bridge or A/P "access point" placed in the optimal location which one of you would need to connect to but that is the same as being part of their network.
