Im new here, so go easy...:) I just fired up a new HP quad7, loaded up. Win7HomePrem.
Issue is... I have an older HP laptop that I had set up & use RemoteDesktop, all the time. I used the same IP address (my office) & have used it forever. On the new laptop, the window opens & asks for my credentials. When I enter any or all passwords I have none are accepted.
Any ideas are appreciated.

You can try this:

Rightclick Computer>Properties>Advanced System Settings>(in new window)Remote>Users... and then add the local user credentials for your new HP (eg. somedudespc\yourname) and the new HP's password.

If that doesn't work right off the bat, you need to check your firewall to see if it's blocking RDP access:

Control Panel>Windows Firewall>Allow a program or feature through windows firewall> and then make sure "remote desktop" is checked and allowed. I normally just turn off the firewall while I'm testing to make 100% sure that's not what's stopping it.

Hopefully that's not so basic you've already tried it.
