hi, i keep getting bsod on my hp laptop

here's the zip

I tried to do the perfmon /report, but i got an error

model: HP PAILION DM3-1024CA NOTE
running win7 home premium x64

EDIT

guess I should add some background info first

I was gaming on my laptop and then put it into sleep mode.
some time later, I tried turning it back on and nothing would show up.
after leaving it for a few hours it was able to boot up again, but I keep getting bsod...

I think it might have to do with my laptop overheating since it can get quite hot at times.

Hello Albert78, welcome to SF!

You have a problem with a Sony USB driver. Did you hook on a Sony usb thing lately? Smartphone or such? If so, de-install...

What could be related to this is many(!) crashes of the HP software that tries to keep your LT in shape (hpasset.exe). No real reason why though, other than that it might be stopped by a AV program. Please check.

Don't know how old your LT is but I would advice on having it cleaned (by opening up and really cleaning the area between fan(s) and coolingstrips.)

If you are using a tool like daemon (sptd.sys was found in your system drivers) please remove:
Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

Hi there MvdB,

thanks for the reply,

I usually connect my phone to my laptop to charge it. How would I go about uninstalling the drivers for it?
I opened up device manager and saw some sony items and I just right clicked them and uninstalled them; is there anything else I have to do?

The only AV program I have on my laptop is one I got from my school: Symantec Endpoint Protection. It says I need to turn it on again, but nothing happens when I try to enable it.

As for uninstalling daemon tools, should I use the control panel and then the program in your quote? or should I use the SPTD uninstaller right away?

oh and my laptop is about 2 years old now. I'll try to clean it just for good measure.

Allways start with the supplied de-install and the follow-up with the sptd unstaller to make sure... These are only for the situation where the manufacturer has not done a good job on the de-install software...
