Just to be clear:
Before I started working on this thing, I connected the extHDD, copied the user folder onto it, and then made a macrium image of the entire disk.
Today, after we (aparently) fixed the BSOD problem, I plugged in the extHDD, and the computer wanted to chkdsk it. I let it, and in over 4 hours it had only got through 648 files, so I clicked the cancel button. In File Explorer(Computer) the extHDD showed as unreadable. I rebooted and looked at the extHDD, it was there, and readable. However, the user folder was not there, and the macrium folder was there, but the image was 0 bytes. I ran chkdsk again, it went through really fast this time, gave me a report, and everything seems fine. The only thing is, it seems that everything I put on the external disk before we fixed the IRST issue, is either not there, or empty file.
Why would it do that? Nothing was "Found" from the chkdsk operation. Could it be that anything saved while the computer was unstable just never took? Does that seem like a possible scenario?
