Constant Computer Freezes - Windows 7

Check those processor temps against these maximums: What is my Computers Maximum CPU Temperature? - Technibble Those core temps seem high even if they're not maxing out which could fry the processor.

I would also install Core Temp and put the temps in the SysTray to monitor them under load. Core Temp

It's possible you also have a HD that's going bad. Did you determine it's actual maker so you can run their intended HD Diagnostic extended CD scan? Install CrystalDiskInfo to see the HD make and model and monitor SMART status from desktop to compare with previous results.

Those temps looked high to me too.
But I looked up the temps and the 'unofficial' max temp on a mobile Core 2 Duo is 100C, and it's shutdown temp is 125C.

Thanks, Bob. That would point more directly to the HD which still needs the maker's diagnostics run on it to get a definitive diagnosis and possible repair. But if the warning given in the earlier test is repeated then I would replace it, possibly with an SSD to get best performance of all.

Could you please quickly run me through how to run the "Clean All" command? Might as well give it a try

Hi all,

I dropped my laptop into the computer place to have it inspected/diagnosed, explained the problems and explained what I had been told on here, so they will have a look, and let me know what's wrong.

Thanks to all that suggested solutions, and provided help in this unique circumstance.

Cheers,
James.
