Constant crashes in 3D applications

My computer has been constantly crashing since the day I built it, about 2 years ago, The crash only happens in video games. Sometimes it gives me a BSOD with error codes that are rarely the same. Usually it will just freeze up as my screen goes black.

I've tried to run the PC with various parts from my old computer, including video card, power supply, motherboard/cpu and the crash still occurs. This PC has gone through XP, Vista x64 and now Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it's been crashing in all 3 OS.

My current Windows 7 installation is about 5 months old. It's a retail version and I upgraded from Vista instead of doing a clean install.

Lately my PC hasn't been crashing as much as it used to, but since I installed Starcraft 2, I've been crashing every 30-45 minutes which is getting very frustrating.

Thank you for any help you may provide.

Hi Antifaith ! Welcome to the forums .

3D apps means video games only ... or programs like 3Ds Max too ? What is the size of your ram ? Have you checked that there is no problem with ram ? Is the video card a dedicated one , or not ?

Yeah, by 3D applications I mean games, that wasn't very accurate.

I have 4 gigs of ram, but I have tried replacing it in the past and still had problems. I've run a few RAM tests I found on Hiren's Boot CD some time ago and found no problems.

Video card is an Nvidia 8800GTX with the most recent drivers.

Hmm, I did include the report in my original post and I saw the attachment when I previewed my thread. Let me try that again.

Edit: There you go.

Thanks for that. I apologize for the delay, I was busy all day yesterday.

I see several issues. First, please install the ATK0110 Utility for Windows 7/Vista from here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-

Remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads

Update your Intel wireless adapter drivers:
Code:
netr6164.sys Wed Nov 26 08:51:16 2008

Your Realtek Ethernet drivers should also be updated:
Code:
Rtlh64.sys Fri Mar 06 04:06:17 2009

Tages Copy Protection should be removed for the time being.

I uninstalled Daemon tools a while ago but have been using magicISO instead. Is that program problematic as well? I ran the SPTD uninstaller and it asked me if I wanted to disable SPTD, reboot and then run it again. I did, and when I ran it again it said it found no version of SPTD. Is that alright?

The ASUS link sends me to to a page with several links for a KGPE-D16, but my motherboard is a P5B. I found that this ATK0110 thing is part of some AI booster program from asus and I downloaded that from a website, but halfway through the installation it says "could not install ACPI driver"

I updated my Realtek driver via windows update and had no problems, which is odd because whenever I tried to update it in the past, it would fail.

I have a new wireless adapter that I'll be picking up in the mail today so I won't update those drivers for now.

I ran the TAGE removal tool from their website, no idea if that got the job done or now.

Here's another report I made just now. I don't know if it's of any use, but I'm not very familliar with all this.

Thank you.

I posted another zip file 3 posts up, it's has the latest information. I read the instructions again and I don't think I'm missing anything. Let me know if any more information is needed.

Hmm...no new dumps in that report. Would you mind deleting the contents of your C:\Windows\Minidumps folder, and then posting the new dumps that come when the machine crashes?
