My desktop PC is a W7 32 Bit Ultimate, SP1 system.
Control Panel >Homegroup Problems
1. My homegroup settings show Pictures, Music, Videos and Printers as shared but not documents (Checkbox is not ticked) When I tick the checkbox and save changes, then reopen the control panel the documents checkbox is again unchecked.
2. when I open Change sharing options for different network profiles > Home
The "Turn on network discovery" and "Turn on file and printer sharing" are both unchecked. When I check them to turn them on and save the changes, then reopen the Change sharing options they are both again unchecked.
How can I get these changes to take effect

Lately when I see this problem is has to do with the base filtering engine services is corrupted and needs to be repaired. This is usually caused from a virus.

The link below shows you how to fix this never ending problem, it uses the ESET repair utility for this.

Here is the link for the repair utility, please follow directions on this page> I receive the message that my ESET installation ended prematurely - ESET Knowledgebase
