I mounted a friend's WindowsImageBackup VHD file in Disk Management, did not check Read Only. I assume this means I can write to it.

I'd like to copy all of his files created since the image was made in February into the User folders, then detach the image and reimage to his HD. Is this possible?

Hello Greg,

I would recommend to make a copy of the system image backup before you do that. They can be finicky, and modifying it like that may make it not usable to do a system image recovery with.

Thanks, Brink.

Not necessary to reimage now as I got his installation restarted after many failed Repair attempts by trying EasyBCD boot CD to Rebuild MBR - need to find out what's in that script.

Will try it sometime in the future.
