Copy Windows 7 DVD?

Hmm. Ashampoo 56 MB download, Nero 55 MB download

ImgBurn 2 MB download.

Yes, when you download Nero to burn CDs, you also get a photo viewer, a photo editor, a movie file format recoder, a wav file editor, a media player, and about a dozen new entries in your startup list...

I think maybe I need a different DVD-R dye.

You're welcome.

Different dye? Why?

I hope you copied the disk as an image (or 1:1 copy) because otherwise it won't be bootable.

I've got a pack of Ritek G05 DVD-R that I was having trouble with. I have used them before but Ashampoo borked on them, 10 mins later 'Program has stopped responding'. I have used before successfully so may be Ashampoo is guilty.
I did the job by using ImageBurn, as you said, nice and easy, I am also going to have another look at Nero Free and dump Ashampoo. No use if I can't trust it and it is a waste of time finding out why it won't work.

Nero takes over your entire machine just so you can work with pictures and burn DVD's. No thanks to Nero, anyone who knows anything would not ever use a system hog like Nero.

Nero is for users who just don't know any better and who are misinformed enough to let some lame burning program take over thier entire machine. Imgburn is for people who know computers.

Imgburn is superior IMO, no if's and's or but's about it.

To make a copy of Win 7 you need use the "create image files from disk" then use the "build" feature in Imgburn to build the ISO. After that you just click on "write" to burn the ISO. Nero is not any faster or easier and Yes I've tried Nero.

There is no hotchpotch about it but I guess you do need to know the difference between copy, build and write. Not exactly rocket science and very easy to figure out.

Also, if you are burning Win7 to a disk you will want to do so at or below 4X speed. Burning these Op system CD's any faster doesn't always work so well.

I hate Nero so bloated, Ashampoo is very good IMO they are a relatively small company but have very good offers on most of their software, but I have to agree Imgburn is essential ISO burner.
