corona.dll is missing

Hello all.

I am having problem trying to install VirtualDubMod.

After double-clicking .exe file, and error comes up:

VirtualDubMod.exe-System Error
"the program can't start because the corona.dll is missing from your computer. Try re-installing the program to fix this problem"


Online instructions say to

Open the zip-file you downloaded from DLL-files.com.
Extract the .dll-file to a location on your computer. We recommend you to unzip the file to the directory of the program that is requesting the file. If that doesn't work, you will have to extract the file to your system directory. By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP, Vista, 7).
Make sure overwrite any existing files (but make a backup copy of the original file).
Reboot your computer.
If the problem still occurs, try the following:
1. Press Start and select Run.
2. Type CMD and press Enter (or if you use Windows ME, type COMMAND).
3. Type regsvr32 "filename".dll and press Enter.



I downloaded the corona-1.0.2-vc6.zip file from corona.sourceforge.net.
I have tried extracting it to the VirtualDubMod folder, but it does not appear there after extraction. I am unsure if I did it right but I am not allowed to extract to the system folders, ACCESS DENIED.

I tried the command line "regsvr32 corona.dll but it did not work.

I am a little unsure about how to do this, WITHOUT, having to re-install my OS.
All Windows and system updates are current.
I have also gone back a week on my system restore, but am unsure of when or why this file is missing, so I have no idea how far to restore back.


Any help with this particular dll would be great.

PS I am not an expert or even close, so detailed instructions would be cool

I take it corona.dll is a system file that's missing?
If so, try this tutorial.

You'll have to right click on the command prompt and choose to run As Administrator.
Then type or copy/paste regsvr32 corona.dll, press enter.

Thank you very much for the reply, but I think I may have found the problem, and it is NOT a system file problem. I downloaded a "patch" or supplimental VirtualDubMod.zip and not the "all inclusive".zip

In fact, the program has just finished installing and is in use.

This thread can be taken down if admin wishes.

Just registered to say kloassie's link is gold. Worked right out of the box and no malware detected (via VirusTotal).
