I have been having problems with my computer lately and have been spending hours and hours trying to search for a solution. It said my files and driver was corrupt.

Also, it said "recently installed programs tried to install an unsigned driver. This version of windows requires all drivers to have a valid digital signature."

Somehow my drivers got all messed up where it automatically disabled my Norton Internet Security and I can't reinstall it.

Please any suggestions. Thanks
-Eric

I didn't get a Windows Installation DVD with my computer. They told me to make a computer recovery cd of the computer. Is this the same thing?

I don't believe it's the same thing. If you create that recovery disk you will likely end up with a set of disks. You use them to restore the computer back to the way it was when you bought it. Doing it will wipe everything and reinstall the OS and all the bloatware that was on it when you bought it. I haven't tried and don't know if you can do a repair from the first disk in the set.
You might want to create one of these too.> http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2083-system-repair-disc-create.html
If you know someone who has an original Windows 7 DVD that matches your version I'd see if they will burn you a copy. You should then be able to do a repair from that disk. I think the first thing I would do is uninstall Norton and see if things improve.

Ryo, its a laptop. Also, why wouldn't they give me a Windows Installation DVD? Was it because windows 7 was already installed?

Also, I beginning to get lost. I don't know a lot of computers, but what image am I supposed to burn and how does that help?

alphanumeric, does this tutorial help if my computer is already messed up?

Thanks for all your help. I am beginning to pull my hair out.

ericwoo I don't know why they don't give you a real DVD. You may be able to call the manufacturer and get them to mail you one. If you are lucky all you will have to pay is the postage. Ideally the first thing you should do when you get your PC is run the utility that creates the System Restore Disk Set. Creating the System Repair disk would also be a good thing to do before you need it. I honestly don't know if your current system problems will prevent you from creating the System Repair Disk. All you can do is try it and see if it completes without any errors. I've created one but haven't had to use it yet. If you read the documentation that came with your laptop you may find instructions for doing a system restore from a hidden partition on the laptop. Backup all your documents and any thing you want to save to external storage before hand if you decide to take that route. Doing the system restore will put it back to the way it was when it came out of the box when you first got it. Everything will be wiped clean and reinstalled. For me that would be the last resort after everything else I'd tried had failed.

Eric, have you run a good malware scan to include an online malware scan?

sorry for the late reply.when you buying a laptop...that's have the specification on it. and it's say included OS or just DOS, if you buy the included OS, that must be have the recovery drive on it.
but if you just buy included DOS that's mean you don't have the recovery file OS.
