Laptop is missing something, or has virus [update from previous post]
Ever since this problem started, I have posted a thread on this forum. Unfortunately, it only got on supporter, which actions (Windows 7 Clean OEM install). Thank you for your time, gregrocker. I reinstalled windows completely, chose custom on the Home Premium SP1, and everything seemed fine after I installed all the essential drivers. Everything seemed fine when the exact same problem started popping up again:
Most [EXE] files are "Not a valid win32 application" and most some installers have "corrupt files"
Installers that did work:
Fl Studio
My drivers (except one I can't remember, sorry)
Chrome
7zip
Installers that failed:
Java
Adobe Flash Player(Already had but tried to update)
Osu!
Skype
I've tried:
Clean OEM Windows 7 installation
Updating drivers
Malwarebytes scan and quarantine
Ccleaner registry clean
Ccleaner trash file clean
Different network
Networking mode
Incognito
IE, Firefox, Chrome, Tor
VPNs and proxies
Disabling other networking services for my browser to be uninterrupted.
I've narrowed it down to here, and here's some other things I noticed:
Dlls missing when running programs (BEFORE CLEAN INSTALL)
Registry (which I never touched) having a problem with files I try to install
Installer size being different than the one listed on the website.
Skype default installer failed during installation process bar, saying corrupt, then redirected me to a different installer, which wasn't a valid win32 application.
Java failed because of corrupt while installing, then someone recommended the offline installer, which wasn't a valid win32 application
Malwarebytes installer always failsbecause of a network error.
Please consider answering this without recommending me to buy a new computer ;c
(NOTE) In another post which someone (FINALLY) found a solution, they changed the value in the registry for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Component Based Service>Version>REG_EXPAND_SZ link:
http://www.sevenforums.com/performa...-programs-sfc-cannot-repair-corrupt-file.html
That seemed to work for him, but when I try to change the value it says it failed to change the value for some reason...
