Hello. I've been in while. my pc keeps freezing. and it makes strange sounds. i thought it could be the GPU or HDD. So i couldn't choose. if it's the GPU. i will replace it. if it's the HDD. i will replace it too. but i won't waste my money for nothing. So Could it be the GPU ?

If there's a defect or issue with either the GPU or HDD then it's possible your system will freeze. Though if your HDD was dying, chances are it wouldn't even read/write let alone boot Windows. If your GPU is failing, again, your display would keep freezing or crashing, or more potentially cause BSODs.

With the lack of information you've provided it's rather difficult to make an assessment and even more difficult to provide further support as it could potentially be (for example) your RAM. If you can give us some more information to work with, that'd increase chances of better support to help troubleshoot and resolve your problem.

Hi,
Is this your gpu ?
Every PC needs good graphics. | GeForce

From your past questions I'd guess you already know your hdd is failing or at least what others have said.
I have no reason to think they are wrong about the hdd it has bad sectors
So are you looking for recommendation for hdd's ?
I've been on ssd's for a while now
But do use hdd's for backups... and really only use Western digital black series which are 7200 rpm hdd's good for operation systems to be on
might get a tad hot on a laptop though I've noticed my laptop came with a 5200 rpm one of course a laptop on a hdd at 5200 rpm's isn't very fast either pretty much why I went with ssd :)

I did have a asus gt 640 gpu a while back and yes it was sort of noisy all the time but it is a low end gpu.

Hi,
In the u.s. green and black series are about the same price depending on the size black only go up to 1tb in a 3.5" and 750gb in a 2.5" that I've seen
Black series is better imho

A GPU card can definitely cause the PC to lock up or freeze. I had it happen on my work PC when the GPU card's fan seized up and stopped turning. The card overheated and the computer froze with the most awful squealing noise coming from the speakers.

So yes, it can happen.
