Hi ppl.
First of all, sry for mistakes, i'm not good at writing in english, so forgive me.

I've been using seven for few days, and when i'm playing cs 1.6 i've got less than 100fps in game :| Same fps in css ( but cs1.6 is much older, and dont needed so stron pc ). On vista, xp or older OS i've got stable 100fps and never going it down.

Some solution for it?

Have you checked the obvious, that is whether you're using vsync and if the in-game fps limiter is high enough?

Try this.
1) Right-click on "Computer" and hit "Properties"
2)Hit "Advanced system settings”
3)Open the settings under performance tab
4)Switch to Data Execution Prevention tab
5)Check the second box named "Turn on DEP for all the programs and services except those i select "
6)Now add the Counter-Striker 1.6 to the list then apply and ok..
7)Now launch Cs1.6 try to change it to open gl mode. Dont forget to reduce the Brightness and Gamma a bit..Then apply.

Hope that works.

Hi, I had the same problem and so i post my possibilty to solve the problem.

It works for nvidia-graphiccards

1. Download the "reforce"-Tool from Counterstrike.de - Downloads: Player-Tools * Reforce
2. start the application
3. klick on "Auto Populate" (dont forget to run as admin)
4. then u have to go into the nvidia-controlpanel > manage 3d settings > Program-settings .. and there u have to set up V Sync for the HalfLife.exe off

5. and if u want ... some important rates:

fps_max "101";
rate "25000";
cl_cmdrate "100";
cl_cmdbackup "5";
cl_upspeed "320";
cl_updaterate "101";
ex_interp "0.0101";
cl_resend "6";
cl_rate "9999.99"

hope that works too.

Also if you want to boost your fps up in-game, you can try downloading GameBooster.( Game Booster | Faster Play, Free Download | Free Game Accelerator Download ) It's pretty useful if your running on a low-spec-computer. I use it myself.

Basically what it does is that it shuts the unnecessary properties that would lower your fps (backround-programs, graphic-settings) with 1 click. After your playing session is over, you can just click the same button to go back to normal. It's very convient.

Oh and the OpenGL, I think you can turn it on at Counter-Strike - Options - Video by choosing the bar where you see d3d or Software, just press it and change to OpenGL.

Hellow!!!

I have the solution and i will explain what is making the old opengl games slowdown..

Its how windows 7 determine and aply the visual window decoration.

he problem is in the "Desktop Composition".

Just disable it pressing righ click on exec for your game, propreties and then click on the compatibility tab. Disable the desktop composition and aply the changes.

Now try your game.

Here it works fine for couonter strike 1.6 and urban terror.

My FPS is up and fixed.
