Hi there! As you know, Windows 7 is a relatively outdated OS at this point, but that didn't stop me from giving it another go. I have a new laptop to test on now (An Acer Aspire 3 iirc), so I used FlashBoot for the drivers and Simplix for the cumulative updates and etc. So, I booted it up (UEFI mode cannot be changed sadly, but secure boot was off), let it install, and then it froze. Booting in Safe Mode to see what the issue was, I saw that it hung at ahcix64.sys. I renamed that driver to ahcix64.sys.old since I read about it working when you do that, but then, another driver ruined my day. While booting in Safe Mode, it froze at the asstor64.sys driver. Waiting for it to respond again was useless, like the ahcix64.sys driver. So far, I've scoured at least 50% of the Windows 7 forums for answers, but to no avail.
Specs:
Acer Aspire A315-43
8.00GB RAM (7.35 usable)
UEFI mode, Secure Boot on (but can be disabled)
AMD Ryzen 5500u
512 GB NVMe drive
Please help if you can!

Does that laptop's UEFI have a CSM (Compatibility Support Module) option? If so it needs to be on. I highly doubt secure boot is gonna work for you.

I personally think "secure boot" is a pile of crap in terms of what it's supposed to do. Learn about the WPBT (Windows Platform Binary Table) and its shenanigans... Also, there are many other ways to infect a PC whether a PC has secure boot or not...

Since Acer's website is a miraculous pile of crap, I'm not even sure if that model has Windows 7 drivers.

Hi there! In the BIOS, there is a UEFI Mode option. However, even enabling the Supervisor Password, I can only change the Secure Boot mode. The UEFI mode remains greyed out. I've tried enabling it somehow, but to no avail.

Update: I went into the BIOS and tried disabling all the TPM related options AND Secure Boot, but the Boot Mode remained greyed out. Should I try booting with TPM and Secure Boot off?

I also would like to mention that the disk I'm using is a GPT drive. I have Windows 11 running however, and unless I downgrade to Windows 10, I don't feel like it would be very stable.
