Solved CPU temp is HIGH. Reading using SpeedFan.

(Gigabyte Motherboard, i7 2600k CPU)

My CPU core temps are very high. I am going to buy a new heatsink in a couple of days but I think the one I have shouldnt have quite as high of temperature readings.

First of all my core temps are running at 65-75C at idle. I know that is way too high but idk what to do, even the stock heat sink shouldnt give off such high temps.

any suggestions?

second of all, my SpeedFan has a temp called Temp 3 , which is hitting super high temps, similar to my core temps/ will hit as high as 75C I think.

Fan 1: 1500 RPM
Fan 4: 1500 RPM
all other fans have no readings.

Might I also suggest you confirm the temps using another program such as Real Temp

I actually went and picked up a few parts for my computer, including a new heatsink. and after a complete reassembly of my computer. the heatsink has cooled all cores to 30C. Very frustrating that I had to completely remove the motherboard to install the heatsink but all-in-all completely worth it!

I used the Intel clips on heatsinks for years and never trusted them, so I finally broke down and got one with a back plate and screwed it on. Like it a lot better, but it is a pain having to completely disassemble the motherboard to replace it. I waited until I needed to replace a PSU so I could kill two birds with one stone. I do feel that things are more secure than with the clips.

yeah, so I assume every case doesnt allow you to access that area on the back of the motherboard then? because mine had two of the screw spots showing but there was no way that I could tighten the other two nuts without pulling out the motherboard,

It was worth it for me because before I did it, I had horrible cable management so I took out all my cables and then I also moved my Graphics card for better airflow.
