create or repair boot sector on an already installed windows disk

Hello,

This is my problem

- I added a SSD to my computer.
- Windows 7 Home was installed at my C-drive (harddisk)
- I succesfully installed Windows Home at my new A-drive (SSD)
- When I startup I can choose between two Windows 7 installation
The first is the new installation, the second is the old one

- Now I want to remove my old C-drive
But when I do this Windows does not start up.
I tried booting from the installation DVD, tyring repair, but my new installation does not appear in there, so I cannot repair that installation.

Someone told me I had to repair the bootrecord on my new SSD, but I don't know how.
I DON'T want to reinstall windows. I only want to repair or copy the bootrecord on this new SSD so that I can remove the C-drive

Whenever I replug the C-drive everything still works fine. That disk and that installation is fine as well.

Can I copy it from that installation?

not having to have to do either of these I am not really sure but they do look similar to each other.

Post screenshot of disk management please. The problem most likely is : The old disk has the bootmgr and bootmenu.
the screenshot gives me enough information to show that.

If win7 did format the drive the MBR and partition bootsector are fine! No reason to think he's got a faulty boot sector.

If it boots fine: shutdown, power off and and attach the old disk again. Boot to win7 on ssd. Now make the primary partition on old disk INACTIVE see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/197157-partition-mark-inactive.html

Reboot again. Post results. Post disk management screenshoot again.

That's ok mate I was just going on what someone else had told the OP re the MBR
