Alright, so I got the Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset for Christmas, and because I have rather crappy luck, of course something had to go wrong. This time, it was the mic. It simply doesn't register-or at least, I don't think it does.

Stats (if they will help):
Windows 64-bit, Dell custom laptop

So...is it a problem with the mic, something I did wrong? Any help will be appreciated.

To me; it appears that the mic looks like its working as there are no x's or exclamation points or anything else through it to tell that there is a problem. However; have you tried to update drivers for your audio card if there applicable? If not i would give that a shot and see if there are any updated drivers for the device(if any drivers are required of course).

EDIT: have you tried speaking into the mic to see if windows detects the noise levels? If not try it out and see what happens.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
Well, I tested each of the options on the list, and none of them registered (except the array, which was the built-in laptop mic).

I tried updating the general sound drivers, but no updates were found.

I forgot to mention that this mic had a jack instead of a USB, so no drivers for the mic itself.

Since you said there are no drivers cause its not usb; believe it or not you could have a bad headset cable; and or possibly the connection inside where the headset cable connects to the connector inside the headset. I know its not what you want to hear; but that could very well be a possibility as these types of computer items are mass produced and at any time there can be a few or a batc(s) that are bad right from the factory. I might suggest contacting creative tomorrow when they are open and see what they. As it is; I cant even find your model listed anywhere on their site? are u sure u have the model name right?
