Hi,

I installed my soundcard, everything works perfect. I installed drivers and i get no trouble at device manager. After I plug my headphones in and try to play music, i get no sound. At the sound options in windows i see the soundcard and it looks like it works, because the green bar goes up and down. I read that i need to turn onboard sound off in bios. I couldnt find it in my bios (Award Software F4), dont know why, so i deactivate onboard sound at device manager but it didnt work. Maybe someone knows the problem and can help me :)

Best regards,
erDi

If you have installed a separate sound card, the front panel headphone jack connection has to be moved from the motherboard to the separate sound card. If you didn't move the connection that is probably your problem.

Depending on the age of the PC and the BIOS, the on-board sound could be labeled "Legacy Audio" in the BIOS.

The HD Audio is the preferred connection as it has jack sensing that the AC97 does not have.
The cable must be connected to the SoundBlaster sound card to have front panel headphone audio from the SoundBlaster.

Ah now i understand, but that can't be the problem, because the front panel headphone jack connection has already been moved from the motherboard to the separate sound card.

Has the front panel headphone jack ever worked? Try the AC97 connector and see if works with that.

Does the PC speakers work with the SoundBlaster? Try plugging the headphone directly into the Speaker jack on the SoundBlaster and see if the headphones work.

The front panel headphone jack just works with Onboard sound. The AC 97 connector doesn't work, Soundblaster doesn't work with speakers...

Sounds like the SoundBlaster requires a custom front panel connector. I ran into that with Dell's that used one model Xfi sound card.

Is the Xfi fully Windows 7 compatible? I remember issues with some model Xfi cards not being supported by Creative for Windows 7.

I'm not 100% sure about the compatiblity. It's a custom computer I bought in 2007, so it could be it's not Windows 7 compatible. I've no box where i can see it's compatible or not...

I tried to load custom driver also but they doesn't work.

There were problems as I mentioned with some model Xfi cards. Considering it is a 2007 model I suspect its one of those.
