This problem is kind of hard to explain so I will give 3 situations where I have noticed it. This problem happens randomly. Sometimes it does not occur until after using the PC for 30 minutes, other times it happens right away.

1. If I open a desktop folder that has numerous shortcut icons for programs when I click on one of the shortcuts the cursor highlights the first icon and runs the program associated with it. The PC will not let me run any of the other shortcuts. Only the first one.

2. When I open an excel file and move the cursor to a cell other than A1 the cursor jumps back to A1.

3. When I open file explorer only the top part of the file tree is shown in the preview pane. If I try to click somewhere else in the file tree the cursor jumps back to the top part of the tree.

I have run the SFC utility and removed all programs and windows updates installed in the last 30 days. Problem still persists.

Have you tried using a different mouse? I had a similar issue with my cursor moving around on it's own when I wasn't even touching the mouse and it turned out the actual mouse had developed sentience. So naturally I destroyed it to prevent the uprising.

Hmm, did you try changing keyboard battery? Maybe it was acting weird while dying?

yes

The first thing I did was replace the batteries in the keyboard and the mouse.

Tried the keyboard on another system? Just want to make sure it is faulty and not a driver went bad.

Yep

Tried the wireless keyboard on another PC, a different USB port and reinstalled the Logitech software. Problem still there.
