Mouse with a mind of its own please help me

Hi all i hope you can help me.

My mouse pad over the last month has grown a mind of its own it double clicks last 2 days its been triple and more clicking. it goes where it wants. It grabs the page and scrolls through on its own and opens tabs/pages by itself. I am struggling to do anything with it.
I am using a
COMPAQ PRESARIO CQ61 running Windows 7.
I have tried running a full scan with Kaspersky incase it was a virus and have done that on a few occassions but no viruses have been found. I have un-installed the drivers and then installed them again but nothing has changed it is even the same with another mouse plugged in and the mouse pad turned off. I have even turned the free roaming thing off in its settings which someone had suggested when i googled for help but its still the same and getting worse.

Sounds like a defective mouse as your problems are typical of a bad mouse. Wire mice are relatively inexpensive so get a new mouse as the first step.

But wouldnt the problems stop when i turn the mouse off and plug in an external mouse if it was the wiring of my mouse pad?

fireberd is correct, your mouse pad is failing and i believe that that model in particular does not allow for replacement, adding and external wired or wireless mouse will sort out the problemthough one other factor could be a fake PSU (power supply)should you have bought a new one recently, there are a few out there on ebay or in discount stores that are selling these so called official PSU replacements when in fact they are cheap fakes, i know that this very idea sounds laughable but its is known fact in the repairs sector.
again this problem can be solved with an external mouse, but if it is a fake then i would recommend you stop using it a.s.a.p to prevent any further damages to your net-bookyou can quick test if its a fake buy simply unplugging the PSU and seeing if the fault remains, if it does then its the mouse pad, if it stops acting up then you have a fake PSU

But it is still happening when the mouse pad was turned off all mouse pad drivers were uninstalled and i had a external mouse plugged in to it.
I dont see how it could be the mouse pad when it had no drivers and was compleatly disabled the problem was still there.
I havent bought anything new or changed anything i am doing with it i dont use accessories with it the only things i plug in it are my Iphone and memory sticks for file transfers ect. my useage has been the same for the last 6 months i only use it for my open uni online courses.
Thanks for yur help though i guess i am going to have to resort to my local PC repair shop at their rediculous prices.
