Thanks.. I think it came out nicely for my first orb.

I didn't use the converter for this one though; in all honesty, I prefer to work in PhotoShop's own format and save directly to the format I want to use in the end, I try avoid converting wherever I can.

Only transparency issues I'm having at the moment is trying to determine what colours / areas of the orb Windows makes transparent and what it doesn't. I thought at first that anything black was made transparent, but now I'm not too sure. Since I keep the PSD files of all my work, I'll try saving as PNG and using the converter, I don't really see how, but perhaps that would make a difference.

If I get it to work tonight, amongst others I'll have a 'Happiness and Cyanide' orb tomorrow...

I normally use Paint.NET with a few plugins. Paint.NET doesn't support 32-bit BMP's (only 24-bit, without Alpha Channel). So I save it as a transparent PNG and use Alpha Image Converter.

Of course, yes... I wasn't trying to be rude, I just noticed that he hadn't posted in this thread since the 14th of Jan, so I was wondering if he'd moved on to bigger and better things..

Another set of simple looking orbs; I find these work well with those 'minimal' style themes as the orbs have no logos or pictures.

Which image editor are you using?
I use Paint.NET and its just
Image Menu -> Resize -> Give the Height and Width and OK.

For the Start Orb, each image state must be a 54x54 image.
So it will be 54x162 for all three (one below the other).

Uh.... Gladson1976, if I may comment on something without stepping on any toes; the alpha layer on the orbs you attached here doesn't really line up with the button (a bit blurred where the shadow was).

Thought I'd help fix that slightly, didn't change the images at all, just the alpha layer... Hope you don't mind...?

Out of curiosity, does anybody here know what settings need to be changed in order to have a Start button of this size instead of the orb? I was looking the other night, but I couldn't find it. Or will selecting an image of this size with the Win 7 Start Button Changer automatically pick up the button width? I must admit I didn't try it, I was afraid I'd break something if I did... Lol.

Nice, I can tell you used StartOrbz to make it.

BTW, the next build (later today) will let you export 4 valid bmp's (properly resized) so you can use them in any program you wish.
