Getting straight to the point i've had my lenovo laptop for a full year now and i've recently come
into a problem. The charger looks like it's been to hell and back. when at a certain angle it makes
a clicking noise and gets really really hot but when flat it operates normally. I picked it up and
discovered several cracks in it. I've really been way too rough with all the bumping i do with it
despite not meaning to. Is there any way i can save it or am i stuck having to buy a new one?
Either way, lesson learned. I've been to rough.

Replace the charger. There is nothing you can do.

If it is getting hot ditch it for a new one.
Its not worth the fire hazard.

Agreed, replace the charger and don't let it be covered with anything nor sit on carpet.
I have scorched carpet with an overly hot (faulty) UPS. Wife beat me up over it. ;)

If the charger gives up in a sudden short-out, it might fry your PC or the laptop battery.

Yes just get rid of it and buy a brand new one. Rather pay 50 to 100 dollars for a new one then having to spend thousands later cause of a fire that it caused.

Pictures are always helpful with these power supply issues as if the issue is the wall power side then replacing that cord is cheap and easy but if its the lappy cord side then you can rewire and use the old plug but you better know what the heck your doing and use a solder iron and shrink film. When you add up the cost and time for that then your better off getting a new power supply of the exact same rating and plug style or a premium universal multi adapter style power supply.
