Solved Deactivate the log in screen

I reformatted my PC a couple of days ago and it was fine for awhile then after sitting idle for awhile the log in screen came on. Now it happens when I sit here for a couple of minutes. I found a way to turn it off when I first bought the PC, now my notes do not work. I have found all kinds of ways for turning it on, but nothing to shut the display off permanently and I know it can be done. I have screen saver set to none, sleep and hibernate set to never. any suggestions.

Hello Vala, and welcome to Seven Forums.

It sounds like you may need to double check and make sure that the On resume, display logon screen box is unchecked in Screen Saver Settings. Even with "(None)" selected for the screen saver, it will still go to the log on screen after X idle minutes if this box is checked.

On resume is the thing I have been searching for but there are no screen saver settings except for display. I found other instructions for doing it through power settings/advance settings and it's not there either.

It is solved I think. I wont know until it sits idle for awhile. The email I received suggested a tutorial that said you have to have a screen saver on for the resume option to show up. Thanks for trying to help.

Not any more it seems. If you turn on screen saver password (on resume, display logon screen), it will go straight to the logon screen if you have (None) selected for your screen saver.

I don't use a password. I left the computer after I posted and the log on screen did not come on.
