I have a Lenovo M72e, win 7 x64, 4GB memory, no attached CD\DVD drive, i3-3320T CPU @2.80GHz, AVG Business, Office '07, mostly used for state of Illinois software in our OB area - hospital setting. The end users are complaining that the typing is several characters behind. I had a full backup of the hard drive, so I dropped that onto a different PC (same model) and after doing updates, it is also doing the same thing. I just swapped out the computer, not the power, monitor, keyboard or mouse. Mouse & keyboard were swapped previously. Still doing the same thing. There is no fragmentation, all updates are done, rebooted on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Only thing that is running other than - usually Outlook - Word, IE, and Citrix. I've installed, ran, then removed CCleaner, and it didn't find much, but still no change. The image that I used was from last march. It did the 50+ updates, and within a few hours of me installing it was back to it's delaying again. In all applications. It even happened when I was going to change the name of the PC.

The AVG runs on the 250+ PC's and all servers, the same OS base image was used on multiple PC's then customized for other departments, making sure that the different apps that were needed was on there. All the Lenovo apps have been removed. Rapid HDD accelerator still there, audio driver used elsewhere is on this PC, the hospital patient care app, adobe, .. the usual stuff. The only different thing is the state software that uses Citrix. There is no batter y to remove, and I've ruled out any hardware issue by swapping the computer box out. (Power supply is external). I also did a sfc /scannow, and it didn't find errors. no fragments, no errors on the HDD.

any other ideas for me? I'm frustrated, the nurses are frustrated...

Power supply is external? (Is this even a laptop?)

Is this PC being used for data entry into a hospital's database records, so might be a terminal that must reach a server/echo effect for text?

yes, it's a micro desktop. (http://goo.gl/cdOpBQ) hopefully that gets you to see what I'm working with. The only database records this uses outside the software everyone else here uses is the state software for births which is a Citrix connection. However, the slowness appears in all applications. Microsoft Word, Internet Explorer, the hospital patient care software, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe fill in forms (from the state)...pretty much every piece of software on it.

I gave them a new PC from an image made in March of '14, shortly after I gave it to them. They haven't said anything. The PC that was bad, I uninstalled Office, put on the viewers, left the software on it just removed it off the desktop so the new department wouldn't see it. No complaints from them either.

I saw it, but maybe they've just decided that there is nothing to be done and to live with it.
