Delete Sample Music!!!!!!

I got a new laptop several weeks ago and I am fairly satisfied with the overall performance. Two areas that I am extremely disappointed are as follows:


1.) Windows 7 uses way too much disk space. I have a solid state drive and it is
super fast and quiet. The biggest available drive was 256GB so when I saw
that Windows 7 and some basic pre-installed programs consumed 30GB(9%)+
I was really P-Od.

2.) Windows Media Center and especially WMP are totally garbage.
1.) WMP cannot recognize track info from a network drive if it was added with
a different computer.
I have about 200 albums, 5000 songs so when the majority of the track
info. Is “unknown” it is totally useless.

2.) The UI cannot handle large libraries since it can only display a handfull info
at a time. It looks like it was designed for about 50 to 100 songs.

3.) After being disappointed with these major flaws I seriously could not
believe that WMP could not even delete the sample music from the player.
I tried deleting them in Windows Media Center,WMP, and when I manually
delete the files they still show up in the player (they can’t be played
since the files were deleted but the ugly art and album info is still there).

I don’t expect WMP to turn into a usable music management platform anytime soon, but
can anyone tell me how to permanently remove the annoying sample music?

To be fair iTunes software it equally as useless. Sony’s SonicStage works great, too bad they abandoned their compression format. If they have a new version that works on Windows 7 I would get it.

Kill the WMP service in task manager and go to the folder to delete.

I tried that and the sample music still showed in the media player. When you
try to play them it says that the files cannot be found and still does not remove
them from the player.

After manually deleting the audio files I found the WMP file that needs to be deleted in order to permanently remove.
It is:
C:\Users\"user name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player\LocalMLS_0.wmdb

When I opened this file with notepad it had all the sample song data. Next time
I opened WMP the sample music was not shown. THATS A BINGO!!!

AppData is a hidden folder.
