I accidentally deleted the recovery partition on my Hp compaq Presario CQ61 and have never burnt the recovery to a DVD.
Checked Hp Site and the only option is to re-order another.
The serial number of my Notebook is CNF9494GMB & Model is CQ-61420US
Any help in this regard will be appreciated

I think Kaktussoft is suggesting you make a system image and use that as your recovery tool if your computer is working as expected.

You can reinstall windows 7 by using an ISO from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River « My Digital Life

Use the same version as you have now!! (I assume it's home premium X64). Of course in the right language as well. Use the productkey as listed on COA sticker (Certificate Of Authenticity) on the back of notebook.

You can install/update all your hp hardware drivers by installing "HP Support Assistant".

You DO understand that "just like the factory recovery option" means that NO applications, NO user accounts, and NO data files will be restored when you do this recovery -- right? I looked briefly through the linked info, and that's what it implied.

If you want to be able to RESTORE your PC to a working state -- complete with applications, user accounts, and data files, you don't want a factory recovery option; instead, you want to do a restore from a saved image. You can do that by imaging off what you have to a hard drive using the Win7 feature, or installing and using the free version of Macrium Reflect.

Recovery disk

Well, you need to purchased again the recovery disk from the manufacturer because if you will use different recovery disk for the same model its still not work.
