Hello all,

as mentioned in the title.

What has been done:

  • SFCScan - found no problem

  • Recreated users profile - no effect

  • checked Memory Memtest and HDD with WDDiag - all green

My preferable solution would be to do a clean installation as we have 2nd laptop of same configuration which is running fine, however its not an option at this moment as setting and configuring all the software present would take took long (but I guess will be part of the problem).
I have attached the explorer.exe crash dump View attachment explorer.exe.5280.erd1-l01220.zip as found in one of the tutorials.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more information please ask, I will run anything and do nearly anything to stop that thing from crashing.

Hey there,

Welcome to the forum. Just throwing some ideas out there:

  • When did this issue start to occur?
  • Do you know if you have any recent restore points?
  • If you know the exact date of when the issue started to occur, use a restore point prior to the date of the issue occurring.
If you need further help with restore points, here's a good tutorial on how to use them.

Hope this helps!

All the best,

Bill

Hi and thanks,

I forgot to add that it actually started about a 4 months up to half a year ago. No precise date is known. Yes I know....
I haven't got the idea at that time sadly as I have tried the other stuff I wrote and then kinda left it out of my radar. Anyway if there were any restore points at the beginning point it this problem, I would say they are now not usable anymore.
