Any ideas how to fix this?? I'm new (1 month) to Win7

If I save a file on my desktop (recently an XLS and PDF file) on my desktop.... open windows exploder and drag the two files off the desktop into some folder, the files still appear on my desktop until I right-click and refresh the desktop.

It's really annoying. Any ideas??

Go to device manager and make sure you have the most up to date driver for your graphics card.

Thanks, I do. I've got a pretty hot (upgraded) modeling card..... and the drivers are current. It did the same on the previous, originally installed drivers on the computer too.

Click Start > Type "regedit" in the box and it enter

Right click "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT" and click "Find"

Type "dontrefresh" in the search box and hit enter

You will see the value called "DontRefresh", right click it to change the value, set it to 0

Restart your computer

See if that fixes it (it should)

i realize this thread is 5 months old, but here it goes anyway: what can i do to fix this problem if the registry search for "dontrefresh" doesn't come up with anything?

Try it again. I have seen posts, that some say that it does not show at first.
