Hello,

I have a strange problem. I recently had to move my graphics card from one slot to another on my motherboard. When I did so, my desktop appeared to be shifted over to the left and that the left most part of the desktop would not display. I tried to use my TV controls to shift the display horizontally and when I did I encountered two issues- 1) the display would not adjust flush with the right side of the screen (would not reach it leaving a slim black bar) and 2) it looked like someone sliced off the left most part of my desktop (the part missing was a width so that about half the start/ windows button was missing).

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling CCC (latest update/drivers) for my ATI Raedon HD 46xx series card with no luck (Doing a registry sweep between to be thorough). I also have updated everything else windows with no luck.

My desktop is fine @50hz by the way, but 60hz is problematic.

And here is the whammy!

I took a screenshot of my desktop to send to a friend so he could see the left part cut off by a black bar and when I pasted it, the whole screen is there in the pic!!

So I assume this means that windows thinks it is displaying the screen but it is not making it to my TV?

I would have given up on this, however, it was working before so I know that it is possible.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated as I am starting to pull my hair out over here! :-)

Thanks in advance!

Daikon

Hum I had a similar thing happen with my monitor I just could not get it to the edges and someone advised me to use the scaling in the CCC and it worked so give it go.

Personally I got so fed up with the ATi stuff and went NVidia best thing I ever did.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunetely when I slide the slider in CCC I see no change at all! Not sure why it is unresponsive, but it is...

Has it been hooked up to a computer monitor and worked on yet ?

It`s perfectly normal for the screenshot to show up correctly.

Well Daikon mate this is as close asI can find for a driver for that card which I am guessing is a little dated nowas is some of the other hardware my friend

http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=567&pid=174&psn=&lid=1&leg=0#

now this is for DDR5 and you sayyours is DDR4 which I must admit I have not heard much about .

I hate to say it but maybe time fora new card and have you ever thought of going NVidia because it is the bestthing I ever did.

The other option is to update thedrivers for the board too

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM2+ - GA-MA780G-UD3H (rev. 1.0)

But first try these http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

these may be an idea to try too

http://www.superantispyware.com/

http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/ untick thetrial version box

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ download frombleeping computer

http://www.memtest.org/ see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

the last of these as a last resortand be forewarned it takes while to run it and for at least eight passes there is a beta version out but I haven't tried it yet si go with this one.

What was the reason you has to change the GPU to another slot?
Re-run the Windows Experience index. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools click Rerun Assessment. Pull the card out and confirm it is fully seated along with any power cables.
