You have to change the screen resolution in Windows,

Click the right mouse button on an empty part of your desktop and you will see this menu;

Choose "Screen Resolution" and you will get this menu;

From there you can set up your display as you would like to have it, always provided of course that the hardware ( TV-Display, Graphic Card etc) is compatible and the software ( if special drivers used etc) works.

Yes, but you did not say where you tried it, on the TV, in Windows............

Without information it is impossible to offer any sensible help. Without knowing what you are trying to do, and with what, there is no way to give you any useful advice on how to accomplish it.

Aspect ratios and various graphic card drivers are not your problem. The problem is that your TV is not showing the resolution you want to have. In order to achieve that, you need to know what your TV is capable of, and how it may be set up to achieve what you want. The windows display setups are also important.

Is this your TV?

If it is not, then tell me the model type and number of the TV you have.

Your TV has a list of specifications like this;

( Those are the specifications from the TV I just posted a link to). I need to know which TV you have so I can find the correct specifications and tell you what you have to do to set it up.

Without the specifications I can't help you.

Change the resolution in that box to 1920 X 1080

You might be asked to restart your machine, and your problem should be solved.

If it is not, then post again.

OK. It seems your graphic card is there and working. Have a look at the resolution box again,does it still say 1920 X 1080 ?

If it does, then there is a good chance that your TV is defective and can not display the recommended resolution.

It is however also possible that there is something not right with your graphic drivers.

Not much more I can do I'm afraid.

I would try installing the graphic card drivers again. Switch everything off, the TV as well, then restart, check that the resolution is correct at 1920 X 1080 , and if it still doesn't work, then get someone to have a look at your TV.
