Solved devcon.exe UAC prompt at Windows startup

Hey all

I recently did a slew of Windows 7 updates. Now, at every Windows start, I get a UAC prompt about devcon.exe.

I believe that it's caused by my Blue Manager Suite bluetooth software. I've tried setting the .exe to run as an administrator, but that hasn't helped.

Is there any way to avoid this message? Should I rename the file and hope it doesn't break the bluetooth functionality?

Thanks!

Very happy with this buid.
I struggled a lot to find all compatible parts since I wanted an Intel 1151 based motherboard so to be able to install Windows 7.
I chose this case because it has amazing air flow, it's sturdy and looks good.
The case included 1x 200mm front and 1x 120mm back fans, I added 1x 200mm on the top and 1x120 bottom fans and modded the panels with black stockings for women s
Changing the ownership will not change the way a file is coded, Neither will changing it's name, nor will changing the UAC level

Windows has a default way to treat programs that are coded as "Admin Only" this produces the prompt which is OK if you are in a position to do this but causes an issue with any start-up items that are required to operate unattended.

There is one way to circumvent the issue in cases like this and our tutorial below gives full instructions. Please note that the "Admin Only" files are marked as such for security reasons so using this workaround can potentially lower security levels on the system so only use it sparingly (only for those programs that are essential)

I've renamed the file to devcon.exe.old. I'm not recieving the prompts at start up andmy Bluetooth device still appears to be functioning fine.

I don't know what the update did, nor which update it was, but I'm satisfied.
