Solved Device manager blank?

Hi,

I have AVG free.....ran those programmes again Sreedhav, few minor adware found and removed..........first scan showed up over 900 problems with many trojans, I've deleted so don't know if I can post the log again

Thanks Jumanji I'll try that suggestion too.....but to be honest I'm leaning towards saving what I need and doing a fresh install......I have a few other issues aswell as DM....display drivers for a new gfx card not installing, and certain windows in Explorer freezing/crashing

A clean install will of course be the best course to start with a clean slate.

And when you are at it, back up your hard drive with any of the free imaging software of your choice.

When you install, do not activate immediately but try all the free imaging software by backing up and then restoring to familiarise yourself and make sure that you can do it.

Once you master with the backup and restore operation, you can kickstart your final installation and make your first backup after all the drivers+security software+updates+activation. Save this and keep it so that in future you need not go with all this.

Then periodical backups....

Never again you need to pull your hair to resolve problems. Just restore and get back on track within minutes.

That's great! Let me know in the other thread if you still need troubleshooting with crashes. Best wishes the clean install resolved those, as well.

My problem with blank Device manager solved

Your excellent support could solve my problem. Because of this problem, i was not able to charge my ipod and it was not getting recognised by my computer.
