diagnostics policy service

hey guys, whenever i try troubleshooting anything it tells me this:
The diagnostic policy service is not running.
what should i do?

Type Services.msc in the start Search box, click on the icon ....scroll down to "Diagnostic Policy". Right click, choose properties and set it to Automatic. If it's already set that way, then click to 'restart' it.

it is already set to automatic, i dont have a restart option but when i press start it gives the following error:

Windows could not start the diagnostic policy service on local Computer
error 1079: the account specified for this service is different from the account specified for other services running in the same process

Look in Event Viewer and see what the error message says.

when i try to open the event viewer i get the following error:

even log service is unavailable, verify that this service is running

Sounds like you may have done an upgrade and not a clean install, am I right? If so do a clean install or you will find all kidns of little problems.

I had the same exact problem with event viewer, System Restore fixed it .

You could do a repair install without losing anything.
