Ding.wav (default beep) plays every 10 seconds

Hello,

I have multiple systems that start to behave very strange.
First a week ago 1 laptop (Dell E6500 Win 7 Pro 64 bit) started to play the ding.wav every 10 seconds. I thought it maybe was caused by our Document Managenet System (DMS) Decos, integration tools, but today 2 desktops without Decos tools (Dell 980 Win 7 Pro 64 bit) started to behave the same.

All my applications are closed, so I have no idea where the sound is coming from.

Any Idea's?

Hi.
Yes thats is a little strange
(This was an often problem before years with veeery old celeron computers)
Anyway lets try those...
First choose one computer who has the <<every 10 seconds ding.wav problem>>
Start task manager select the processes tab and start to End one by one processes.
End one process and see if the ding sound stops,continue until you find the guilty process.
Also try,in Msconfig go to startup tab and again Untik one by one startup programs.(Here you will have to restart each time for results)

Just a tip,some motherboard have the ding wav for high tempeture alert,but because you mention multiple systems i advice to check the problem in software.
