DirectX an internal system error occurred

I recently bought a new computer, and when I tried to install DirectX I received the following error message "An internal system error occurred". I tried using both the web installer and the june 2010 redist. Any insight into this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Might i first say, Welcome to the Forums!

Now than, there's one of your problems zer01717, DirectX can easily be installed when you first install a game. You do not need to manually download it to install it. If the problem is internal, than the problem is that your computer is still installing everything from after start up. I don't know how to fix this, but someone else on the forums might be able to help. All I'm saying is that you might just need to wait for a few days BEFORE installing it. Did you also install WinRAR when you got it?

Thanks, Yeah this forum solved my BSOD problems so now I'm hoping it can help me figure out this issue. I do have winRAR installed. When I installed a few games recently it would (after installation of the game is complete) prompt to install DirectX and during installation I will just receive the installation failed "an internal system error occurred. Then when I go to play a game it will say I am missing some DirectX dll's. The most common one is "cannot find d3dx9_43.dll".

You might also have security software that won't allow ActiveX to be installed without asking you first.
