Disable Autoplay for specific drive?

To save space on my SSDs, I have a removable (pen) drive permanently plugged into my PC, on which I store various temp files (which get replaced quite often)... Is it possible to disable autoplay on this specific flash drive alone, so that I do not get the autoplay window for it every time I boot up? I'd prefer to have other drives bring up the window when I plug them in (if possible).

Can't find a solution to this - so perhaps it can't be done?

Thanks!

Martin

If it can be done, try here:

Instructions

To assign a device handler to a device, under the Device Parameters subkey of the device instance, add a value of type REG_SZ named DeviceHandlers. The data entry for this value is the name of the device handler.

The following is an example entry for a fictitious Vid_059&Pid_0031 device.

Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
   SYSTEM
      CurrentControlSet
         Enum
            USB
               Vid_059b&Pid_0031
                  059B003112010E93
                     Device Parameters
                        DeviceHandlers = MyDeviceHandler

Device handlers can also be assigned by using device group or device class settings.

Source: How to Assign a Device Handler to a Device | Microsoft Docs

So you'd need to identify the USB device's VID and PID , and you need to find the correct "MyDeviceHandler" for "take no action".

Thanks, I already have the USB view installed, so it would have been easy, I suppose, to have 'fixed' this. I say 'would have been', because my PC, in its infinite wisdom, has not brought up the autoplay window for this device since yesterday. I don't think I did anything to bring about the change, but I can use the information here should the PC change its mind about this over the next few days (as is, of course, always possible)!

:-)
