disable " Force Shutdown" confirm in windows ultimate

Getting around the Force Shut down screen

Will be shut down commands in this thread cause a reboot or a turnoff? And I can't really tell if a registry edit needs to be done.

Here's why I need to know: I'm a completely hands-free user and just switched to a new computer running Windows 7 (had Windows XP on previous machine). I use Dragon NaturallySpeaking to run everything. It's a huge memory hog and very often it grinds everything to an incredibly slow pace or even stall out. With XP I could reboot by saying "Restart Windows") and be back in business. But with Windows 7, I try to restart and get hung up on the black screen that says these programs are still open. And that's the whole problem ... Dragon NaturallySpeaking grinds things down so much that other programs bog down and don't even respond. And once the restart (shut down) process begins, I can't click Force Shutdown by voice.

Thanks

The commands will go into effect whether you choose reboot or shut down. If you choose shut down, it will force shutdown after the designated amount of time. If you choose reboot, it will continue to reboot after the designated amount of time set in the registry file.

@FritzE,

This is an extremely old thread and your subject is dealing with voice on top of shutdown/reboot. You would get much better help by creating a NEW thread with your questions/issues. This way I will be looked at by the Gurus of the Forum. -WS
