Disable Indexing of Live Mail

I really like to Search window in the start menu, and I notice that I use it a lot to quickly find programs in the start menu. However, the search window in the start menu also lists e-mails of my Windows Live Mail. So when I type the first 3 letters of the program I want to start, it also lists some old e-mails which happen to have the same letters or word in it. I find it a bit annoying, since most of these e-mails may be very old.
I would like to try to disable this, but keep the search window in the Start menu. In the Control Panel -> Indexing Options, I can remove some of the standard included indexing locations, but not the Windows Live Mail entry. There is no way to remove this entry from the "included locations" section.
Since I don't search files very often, and if I do I use a 3rd party tool (Total Commander), I also tried to disable indexing all together. However I can't seem to find how to disable indexing. I could disable "Windows Search" in the "Windows Features" but this removes the search window in the start menu.

Does anyone know how to disable indexing (keeping the search window) or just to disable indexing of e-mails?

you might solve your problem by re-building your index. goto indexing>advanced>rebuild. shutting indexing off is easy, but I assume you would rather leave it on if you can get it not to index e-mails

I'm not sure how rebuilding the index might help. I'm just looking to either disable indexing of Windows Live Mail, or to disable indexing all together.

In the indexing options screen, click on the Windows Live Mail entry on the Summary of selected locations box on the bottom of that screen. The top box will change to show the chosen entry where you can untick it and stop it indexing it.

Thanks! That did the trick!
The funny thing is, I have unselected the relevant drives on C:, but Windows Live Mail is still listed in the selected locations box. However, mails are not included in Windows Search anymore, so I am happy.

Disable indexing of Windows Live Mail

The real trick is being able to view and alter the "AppData" folder. This is were messages, settings and lots of other goodies are stored. From the start menu, click "Computer". Double click the "C" drive (or the main host drive). Double click the "Users" drive. Double click the main user folder (whatever you named your computer during original setup). From the menu bar, select Tools/Folder Options. On the "View" tab, select the radial button for "Show hidden files, folders and drives." This will enable viewing of the "AppData" folder. Once you've accomplished this, you can opening index services in Control Panel/System/Performance Information and Tools/Adjust Indexing Options. Then click Windows Live Mail in the bottom list and deselect it when it pops into the top list. Easy peasy!
