Under advanced sharing options it's "Turn off password Protected Sharing" but whenever I try to access the other win7 pc, it asks for that system's username / password.. why ?

There are two passwords. One for homegroup (network password). That lets you log onto the network, you need the users name/pword to get the share.

You can get rid of the network password by using workgroup instead of home group but you are still going to need the UID/pword.

If you really want to be password free you are going to have to take a big hit on security and allow all sharing for all people. Not a good idea.

Change from homegroup to workgroup, then enable all users in sharing and all permissions there as well.

Just hope you arent on wifi!!!

well my brother has a PC attached to my network , but when he changes his password I can't access it anymore, but still I'm the admin but can't ask him every time about his username / password so I was looking for a easy way to fix this thing.

Now that is another story. If you are the admin assign a password and lock it so he cant change it, or is it his network?

I am admin, but he likes changing passwords often as his kids know the password after few days, so this is the scenario.

So let me get this straight. His kids are determining what you (the admin) can or cant do?

As indicated earlier you can remove all passwords and then the kids dont need to know his.

it's confusing I guess, but let me explain again
*Me and my Brother have a Two PC Network One with win7x32 and mine is win7x64
*He sometimes changes his password to let his kids not play games
*But whenever I access his pc it asks for his Admin Username / Password which I provide if I know but what if I don't know ?
*I don't wanna ask him if I don't know
*I still wanna access his pc, and he wants to access my PC with only read only folder permissions but without every time entering passwords of each other.

You must forgive us but we have no way of knowing what is what on your network and site rules prevent us from helping circumvent passwords etc.

I believe what you say but cant help with that. You are the admin of your machine only, and he is on his. You would be better off asking him.

lolz man, I have TightVNC installed on his system, from where I can control his pc without asking him, but I just wanted to ask how to access shared folders that's all, it's not a crime, even on last versions of windows you could easily access a folder without providing password everytime.

That only affects computers connecting to your PC, not you connecting to others'. To connect to your brother's share folder without using a password, you'll need to change the same setting on his laptop.

Not if it is set up correctly.
