disk management help

Hi. Hi have a lenovo z470 with three partitions, (1) local disk (C) - approx. 500+Gb, (D): - approx. 30 GB, and (3) microsoft office click to run protected (Q). My HDD has a capacity of 640 GB. I tried to shrink my drive c to 120+ gb, and succeeded. So now i have 464.03 gb of free space. Iwanted to extend my drive D get all the remaining free space, so i backed up the contents of drive d, and deleted the volume using disk management. The 30 gb was now labeled free space, but without thinking, I deleted this free space, instead of extending the 464 gb free space I previously created. How do I get it back? I badly need your help. I already tried several partition recovery tools, but they don't work, or I don't know how to make them work. I'm missing about 30 gb of free space, and when i run disk management again, it says that disk 0 only has a capacity of 596.17 gb. Thanks in advance.

Hello jay1623, welcome to Seven Forums!

From what you say the "Free Space" was part of an Extended partition and not compatible with a Primary partition, what I'm sure the other paratitions are; using Windows disk management to create a fourth partition it will be an Extended partition by default.

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire Windows disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a maximized snip of that.
