:cry:Hello again, folks... I recently copied several MP4 video files and a few files containing still photographs on to a Memorex CD-R 700MB disc. When I made the disc, the files were burned to it without any problems and the file directory was displayed properly. Now, the disc will not boot in either of my disc drives. Is there any way to get the disc to boot so I can retrieve my files? Or, should I just write this one off? Thanks.

GIVE IT A SPANKING!!!!
...no seriously

Why would you be trying to boot from a standard data disc?
Or are you simply saying you put it in the drive and windows doesn't recognize it?

Actually, the spanking sounds like a great idea! What I meant wast that Windows 7 is not recognising the disc. Both disc drives are working fine, but the disc is not being read at all. :)

The only thing that occurs is to temporarily disable any AV/security software you may have running and see if that allows the disc to load.

I have heard of disc burned in xp not reading on 7 before but have not personally experienced it so I have not developed a workaround. Hopefully someone else will have better advice for you.

Thanks, Maguscreed! Makes sense to me. I'll give it a try. By the way, I like your avatar!
