I have a Gateway Computer, DX4822-01, with Intel Pentium E5300 Dual Core 2.6GHZ each, 6GB Ram, and 1TB HDD, running Windows 7 Home Premium.

My display goes black and returns to the sign in screen requiring password every 60 seconds, when idle. How do I control what is happening here. If anyone out there can help it sure would be appreciated. I have the sleep & hibernate set at "never".

Thanks,

Either you're being logged out due to idleness, which is possible but weird, or you've got a screen saver configured to run after a minute of inactivity.

I'd suggest checking your screen saver settings. That's the most likely cause.

With frustration, I gave up trying to find what was wrong with my display going black every 60 seconds, so I did a system restore to 10/30/09. I know everything was fine then. After the restore, my display works all right. It runs constant, unless I change it or activate a screen saver. Thanks for you help.
