dllhost.exe constant 50% cpu

Hey man, the other guy with the FL issue here. Here's my workaround, if that helps you.

1. Decide where you want to save your track. Now make a folder within that folder for this wav file. Then make ANOTHER folder for that. It should be ChosenFolder -> NewFolder1 -> NewFolder2 -> wav_file in explorer.
IMPORTANT: Don't go to that folder after you render your track. That will cause the CPU spike.
2. Render your track.
3. Upload your wav to a FTP site (I use Mediafire, it's free).
4. Close your web browser after it's uploads. That should be a CPU hog as well.
5. Delete your parent folder that has the wav folder. In the example above, you should be deleting NewFolder1.
6. Download the wav file from Mediafire.

It's a long way to avoid this CPU thing but it gets you your song in the end, which matters the most IMO. Hope this helps!

i dunno but it sounds kinda complicated and hard for me lol.

tho i need to check my tracks before uploadin anywhere ya know.

its much more easier to me if i render it check it and when its using cpu alot i simply terminate dllhost.exe and explorer. exe, and rebooth both of em.

i tried it yesterday and it worked fine. not sure if it will work all the time.
anyway i was hoping for some microsoft dll fix n shit or something.

It was doing that for Vista as well for me. This isn't anything new but rather something FL does, I think.

Oh really? well i did not have this problem on vista so im aming that its the win7 problem. i dont know. maybe i had something on vista that i didnt have on win7. some codec that im missing now but hard to say.

how about youll contact me personally and we'll try to figure it out together? if u still have the problem. cuz it happens to me only when rendering wavs thats for sure

u know i just explored that not everytime i have the problem, i just created a new folder and quickly rendered one wav and exited fl studio. and my computer is not overheating, without any indications of dll fail or something.

so guess my problem isnt that big but still sometimes its just pissin me off ya know.

Same Problem here, solved now.
Here's what I did. I ran Autoruns by Sysinternals and unchecked any references to Microsoft Office (Office still works fine, btw). Since I don't use adobe acrobat to read PDFs, I unchecked the autoruns there also (I use foxit) I believe there are many items in that list that I could have unchecked, but if I wasn't exactly sure what it was, I left it alone. I only went by what I saw in the description and location. I recommend this to anyone having problems of this nature and general slow down of their system. Be careful, and try to understand what you're unchecking as a program that automatically starts in the background when Windows starts. The whole process took less than 20 minutes of going through the list for me.
All of my thumbnails work perfect, videos, .jpg, .png, etc.

Note:
I do not believe that any updates to my computer caused this problem as I originally proposed, as I installed windows and completely shut off all MS updates, but yet the problem started right after one of my other software installations.

Im having this same issue for the second time running Win 7 Ultimate (x64)

This issue is caused by dllhost.exe not being able to create a thumnail of a file either due to corruption etc, dllhost.exe is explorer.exe's thumnail generator, it will stop when killed in task manager or of course a reboot.

The fix for this i presume is to root out the offending file that is causing dllhost.exe to snarl up.

Im still trying to find this latest file, i removed the last file that fixed the same issue on my last install.
