Hi hellbandit,

Welcome to Seven forums.

I apologize for all the inconvenience this issue has caused and promise you that I will do my best to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.

Please let us know if this issue occurs with different system or phone on the same network. Also, check the system under safe mode with networking to isolate the issue:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

It would be better if you update the wireless card drivers for the system from the link below:

Dell Wireless 1502 802.11b/g/n

Kindly update your system specs here by following this.

Keep us posted with the results so we can advise you further.

Maybe someone more expert can comment. But it looks to me like the DNS server is only assigning a dynamic IP for about 90 minutes. See the lines with "lease expires" and those directly above them.

I would call your ISP. Looks like it's their problem.

Good observation, the lease time is controlled by the router where you can change the lease time.

It's usually set to 24 hours lease time but this one is set for much less for some reason.

I'm not sure this is the reason for the disconnections but it may be worth adjusting the lease time back to 24 hours and test it out.

You would need to get into the routers set up page at 192.168.0.1 then look around for the DHCP lease setting.

Although just resetting the router may also fix the problem, I'm not completely sure why the DHCP lease time is so short and renewing a lease won't necessarily cause a disconnection but it does seem strange to me as well.

It may also help to type the DNS servers into the routers set up page then remove the DNS entries from the IPv4 properties. Try Google's DNS at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

This is not related to the problem.
A DHCP, not DNS, server assigns or leases an IP address to a computer for a limited time determined by the server. Normally if the computer is powered up it will attempt to renew the lease, with repeated attempts if necessary, well before it expires. If for any reason the lease is not renewed and expires the serer is free to assign the IP address to any computer that makes a request.

In this case the IP address is in the 192.168.xxx.xxx private IP address range and was probably assigned by a router.

Most likely the "DNS server not responding" error was received because there is no working Internet connection.

To diagnose a problem such as this we first must determine where the problem lies. In particular, is it between the computer and the router or is it something further along. Are there other computers connected to the router and if so are they experiencing the same problem? Was the "ipconfig /all" done in the connected or unconnected state?"

Sounds like the typical ISP router, have you tried resetting this router yet?

You are showing a valid IP here also, not much guess work involved here, if the problem is occurring on the Xbox as well then you definitely need to first reset your router. Sometimes just turning the router off for a few minutes will fix the problem, other times they require a complete reset.

There should be a reset switch somewhere on the router, usually hidden in a small hole.

After resetting any router you would typically need to go into the wireless set up page and retype in the SSID "name of wireless network" then add the password, select the security encryption etc. Ideally you would also use the 802.11n Only setting for maximum performance but this setting won't support older wireless standards like B,G, etc.

When ever you reset a router this is required unless you previously created a configuration file with the routers original settings. Some router don't have this feature, some do.

You need to reset the router per the instructions in the link.
The 30-30-30 Hard Reset Rule for Routers

After the reset you need to access the routers settings at it's gateway address at 192.168.0.1, the wireless settings don't just pop up.

Most likely the "DNS server not responding" error was received because there is no working Internet connection.

That's what I'm talking about. The disconnection. Not the DNS not responding. I used to get this kind of short lease crap from my ISP and had to fix it by stopping and starting the tcp/ip. It stopped happening when the ISP provided Surfboard modem died and I bought my own. But it looks like you guys have it covered. :)

I'm wondering why both connections are showing up with valid IP's at the same time, I'm not sure which connection is supposed to be working here.

Is the entire network just shutting off "DNS error" for all connected devices every five minutes instead of ten minutes?

There also appears to be different DNS server IP's for both adaptors, have you tried removing the DNS entries from IPv4 and letting the router handle the DNS?
