Do I need to "upgrade" my office 2007?

The OP has already decided to stay with 2007. A good move in my opinion........a move from 2007 to 2010 and up could hardly be called an upgrade.

Again, it depends on the needs of the person considering the upgrade. In my case, I picked up a few features I happen to find useful that someone else probably wouldn't feel was worth the upgrade (and, frankly, if that was all I would have gained, it wouldn't have been worth it for me, either). The main reason upgrading was worthwhile to me, besides the few new features I use, is an EOL date that will allow me to use it until Win 7's EOL (Win 7 reaches EOL roughly 2 1/2 years prior to Win 7's EOL). That, to me, is a huge advantage that easily justified the cost upgrading (catching it on sale didn't hurt, either) since I do not like (more like detest) the direction M$ has been going, starting with Win 8 and Office 2013. I got it late last year to make sure it I got it before it could become unavailable later.

If you are buying it flat out, then it doesn't matter, you go with the best deal. There isn't anything 2007 can do that 2010 can't do as far as I'm aware. If we are talking about an upgrade just for the sake of upgrade, I would argue that any of the "new" features warrant the jump to a new version. Microsoft will support 2007 for quite awhile because businesses and schools are going to keep using it over 2010 or 2013.

It doesn't matter who or how many are using it; Microsoft has already said EOL for Office 2007 is 10/10/2017 and EOL for Office 2010 is 10/13/2020. If one wants to ensure they won't get stuck with an abomination like Office 2013 after 2007's EOL but before Win7's EOL (01/01/2020), then now is the time to get 2010 while it is still available. Or you can gamble that M$ will come to their senses before then (personally, I'm not holding my breath).
