Does Plugging in a USB save any hidden files to your computer HDD?

I was wondering, I'm very OCD and I like to keep my computer clean of any unwanted files.


When you plug in a USB does it save any files/hidden files to your computer HDD?

When you clean all/format a USB does it save any backups or anything to your computer HDD?

I'm just quite autistic and I want to know what happends when you plug USBs in

Connecting a virus-free USB drive does not harm your hard drive although Windows will most likely install a driver for it.

That said, a virus-infected USB drive could infect your computer so only use USB drives that you know to be clean or come from a reliable source.

If you format a USB drive you will lose anything on it that you haven't backed up first. It does not have any effect on your hard drive.

In view of your disability I can understand your concerns, but try not to worry too much.

One thing I will say about USB drives, be careful when you disconnect them as you can easily corrupt data on them if it is done incorrectly.

Either disconnect when your computer is switched off, or right-click the drive first then choose Eject. This lets Windows unmount the drive so that you can safely remove it.

Are you getting any hidden files saved in other drive roots when usb plunged in ? Are the files named like autorun erc ? If so, I'd suggest you to have a complete scan using malwarerbyters .
