download and run command problem

When I try to download and run a new file it shows the download running but disappears when finished. I can not find the file anywhere on my system. I have to save the file and then run it. Anyone know how to correct this problem?

I have had several programs like that but not many. I just assume they are 32bit and I run 64bit or I am missing a system file needed to run the installer. I just forget that program.

When downloading a program, always select to save it and then run it from the saved location. Don't try to run as you download.

The problem seems to be across the board, no matter what version I try to download and run.

Are you saving the download prior to running, or are you trying to run the download directly?

there have been several but most recently Itunes.

For a test, disable your AV program before you download. The AV program may have an issue with the download and scrap it. There are "download settings" in most AV programs. You might want to check those too.

Will do. I also just recently did a reinstall but not a clean install as I did not reformat the hard drive. Would that have caused the issue and should I do a complete clean install to start from scratch again?
