DPC Latency

If you do a custom install you can delete the current partition during installation(this will remove all the data) and recreate it in the empty space, and select a quick format - this takes about 1 minute - once a drive has been formatted you only need to do a quick format to reset the paramaters.

Dpc latency fixed - fixed i say

OK - this may be earth shattering news!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a NEW (remanufactured) HP Elitebook laptop. One of the first things I did was to run the DPC Latency program - BAD NEWS.
With a little troubleshooting I determined that the issue was the nVidia driver-which a lot of people have pointed to.

I addressed it to HP and eventually was connected to REAL engineering.
They verified my findings and got nVidia involved.
After a relatively short period of time nVidia acknowledged the issue and began work on it. Today I rcvd an advanced copy of the new driver - AND IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!

DPC before install was 16 MS max - that is MILLISECONDS.
It has been running for 30 minutes now with the new driver and max DPC = 721USEC.

Unfortunately, I don't know when it will appear on the nVidia site but my copy is 261.28. watch for it.......................previous bad copy was 260.99

Rejoice...................
